Programs

After-school

The Cambridge Community Center offers afterschool programing for elementary school children.The program runs throughout the school year and provides children many structured activities.

We believe in bringing in people from our community to work with students. We have one on one tutoring by MIT students for all children to help build and improve literacy skills, Wellsley students teach inline skating, and one of our parents coach basketball to our girls.

Music lessons are very popular with the children, as many learn to play either the guitar or piano with the instruction led by an outside professional music teacher.

Science discovery is our newest program. Children love science when it's hands on. Teachers work along side students enabling them to learn complex scientific experiments while enjoying themselves.

Computer classes are offered in small group settings. Older children learn to build a one page web site using HTML code and photoshop.

Summer Program

The Cowemoki Summer Enrichment Program is a full time day program for children ages 4.9 -12 years based at the CCC. It consists of four, two week sessions from late June to mid August.

Cowemoki offers children the opportunity to play tennis, soccer, and basketball. They also participate in other athletic activities including roller blading, sailing, swimming and more.

Arts and crafts, writing workshops, science discovery, and computer classes are some of the activities the children find themselves immersed in.

The children participate in hobby time and go on weekly field trips outside the city, including hiking in beautiful State parks, to fishing for crabs on the beach.

Cambridge Money Meetings

Harvard and MIT business students are offering confidential meetings with Cambridge neighbors free of charge. Topics will include managing loans and debt,improving a small business, saving for the future, or anything else pertaining to financial services.
